Solihull Council is developing an Alternative Provision (AP) Strategy to ensure that children and young people who need additional support to access education receive the right help, at the right time, in the right setting.
Alternative Provision (AP) is education and support for children and young people who are unable to access full-time mainstream education. Schools and the Council may arrange AP to help ensure children continue to receive a suitable education that meets their needs.
We want to hear from parents and carers about the proposed aims and principles for the strategy. Your views will help us understand:
What is most important in good alternative provision.
Whether the proposed aims and priorities are the right ones.
What works well for children and young people accessing alternative provision.
What challenges families may experience.
Where improvements are needed in the future
Whether your child has experience of alternative provision or not, your feedback is valuable and will help shape the future direction of services in Solihull.
The survey should take around 10 minutes to complete. All responses will be considered as part of the development of the final strategy.
