Solihull Council is reviewing its social housing tenancy policy and strategy. Anyone with an interest in social housing, particularly social housing tenants and registered housing providers, is invited to take part in a six-week consultation on the Council&rsquo;s tenancy policy and strategy for the next five years. There are two consultations on this page - one which is just for Registered Providers, and one for anyone else who would like to take part.Please read the strategy and policy first.Both consultations will end at 5pm on Thursday 5 December.Thank you for taking part.

Tenancy Policy and Strategy consultation

As part of the Department for Transport (DfT) Safer Roads Fund, Solihull Council was awarded &pound;1.265m to deliver road safety improvements along the A41 corridor between Olton Hollow and Solihull Bypass.The DfT analysed data over a 10-year period and found that the A41 corridor needed safety improvements to be brought forward.Further analysis and investigation identified four key themes, which any proposed improvements will aim to address. These are:<ol><li>High vehicle speeds &ndash; identified as a corridor-wide issue </li><li>Lack of crossing points &ndash; particularly crossing A41 Warwick Road and Seven Star Road at key locations</li><li>Poor driver behaviour &ndash; particularly at junctions </li><li>Roadside hazards &ndash; visibility and obstructions on the pavement </li></ol>As well as the improvements, there has also been an allocation of funding for campaigns to improve driving behaviours and awareness. The consultation will run for six weeks, until Monday 9 December 2024.We would like to hear your feedback on the project. We would particularly like to hear from residents and commuters who use the route. A41 Corridor – Safer Roads Fund Project 

The Knowle to Solihull Active Travel Scheme is a new development scheme being developed to encourage and enable more walking and cycling journeys between Solihull and Knowle.The proposed scheme, part of the Solihull <a href="https://www.solihull.gov.uk/sites/default/files/Solihull%20Cycling%20and%20Walking%20Infrastructure%20Plan.pdf" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"></a>Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP), will aim to improve the currently limited cycling infrastructure between Solihull and Knowle. Current early designs for the scheme include proposals to widen the path through Brueton Park, whilst introducing speed limit reductions, traffic calming and sections of segregated bi-directional cycle lanes. Additional crossings along the route and resurfacing existing footways are also proposed.The consultation will run for six weeks, until Monday 2 December 2024. We want to hear your feedback on the scheme, particularly from local residents and commuters who use the current route.
