Solihull Council has a housing allocations scheme to help determine how people qualify for social housing.
Like all local authorities, Solihull Council is required by law to ensure it has a scheme which meets its legal obligations and enables it to determine priorities and procedures when allocating social housing. This includes how the council decides who should have priority for those properties that are available.
Solihull Community Housing runs the housing service on behalf of Solihull Council, including administering the housing register.
The Housing Allocations scheme is required to give priority to certain groups of applicants including people who:
are homeless
overcrowded
need to move because their current home is directly affecting their health.
We are looking to update this scheme and would like to hear from a range of people with views on this. You could have direct experience of living in our social housing, work in this field or just have an interest.
Please complete the survey at the bottom of the page. You can skip any section if you don’t have a view.
The new draft policy is available to view via the ‘Documents’ tab on the right-hand side of this page.
The 10-week survey runs from Monday 22 July to Sunday 29 September.
