Why have these areas been chosen?
Any PSPO must be based on evidence and these locations have been identified by police data and community reports that they are disproportionately impacted by street racing, car cruising and related anti-social behaviour.
I don’t live in these areas but have been affected by street racing, can I still comment?
Yes please do comment! We welcome feedback from any Solihull resident as your views will help us understand the wider impact and ensure the proposed measures are effective across the borough.
Is a PSPO the only measure that the council can take to tackle ASB?
No a PSPO is not the only measure that the council can use, but it is extremely useful as it works alongside existing measures such as police enforcement, community safety initiative and partnership operations. For these incidents of anti social behaviour we believe that it is the most effective and appropriate tool to use to deter unlawful activity and protect public spaces.
