Berkswell and Balsall Parish Council Consultation
Give us your view on future governance arrangements in Balsall and Berkswell Parish Councils
(August-October 2025)
Solihull Council has received a joint request from Balsall and Berkswell Parish Councils to conduct a Community Governance Review with a view of merging both parish councils into one single parish council.
A Community Governance Review (CGR) is a legal process that councils use to examine, and potentially change, the governance arrangements of town and parish councils in their areas. Community governance is the way communities are represented at a local level. A CGR can consider a number of options, such as
- Creating, merging, altering or abolishing parishes
- The naming of parishes and the style of new parishes
- The electoral arrangements for parishes (the ordinary year of election; council size; the number of councillors to be elected to the council and parish warding)
How can I share my views?
We’re inviting residents to give their view on future governance arrangements in Balsall and Berkswell. Please read our FAQs to learn more before submitting your response.
