We are reviewing the Council's dementia services. These are currently provided by Alzheimer's Society in Solihull.
Solihull Activity Group
The Activity Group offers people with dementia the opportunity to meet with others in the same situation. This is a peer support service where people can socialise, take part in activities, and share with others the challenges, difficulties, and achievements of living with dementia. This is not a care service but a service to support, inform, enable, and empower people and increase wellbeing.
Dementia Navigators
The Dementia Navigators service provides support to people with dementia and carers throughout their journey.
Dementia Navigators may support with:
Information and advice about dementia, information about what support is available pre and post-diagnosis, and how to access this support.
Signposting to other support services available and community groups.
Practical and low level emotional support
Empowering healthier lifestyle choices in local communities
Practical coaching and support to people with dementia and their carers
Advise on and facilitate access to peer-led group support
We want to hear your experiences of using the dementia services and your ideas about what the service should look like in the future. We also want to hear from you if you haven't used the service but have views about what the service should provide.
Please share your views and experiences by completing the survey below.
Thesurvey is open until 6th February 2025.
Please note that this survey is for the council funded services as set out above, it does not look at your experience of NHS services such as the Memory Advice Service.
If you have any questions about the survey, or need it in a different format such as easy read, please contact us at getinvolved@solihull.gov.uk
