Solihull Connected document cover

The Council’s transport strategy, Solihull Connected, was first adopted in 2016. It looks at why and how we travel and sets out the policies, initiatives and interventions that can be taken to improve travel and transport across the borough.

Although it may seem like the strategy was adopted relatively recently, much has changed in the last six years. The way in which people travel, and the reasons for travelling have shifted, in part, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are also seeing an increasing focus on the accelerated uptake of public transport and active travel (particularly for short, frequent journeys). While the principles, objectives and structure of the adopted strategy remain valid, it’s clear a ‘refresh’ is now required to ensure it appropriately reflects and responds to this changing picture.

You can download the updated draft strategy using the link in the ‘Documents’ panel on the right-hand side of this this page. Here you will also find a list of accompanying documents and individual area profiles.

Once you’ve had a chance to take a look, share your thoughts by filling out the survey below, or direct any questions you might have to the transport team using the ‘Questions’ tab.

If you would like to find out more, why not come along to one of our public information events taking place across the borough? The dates and locations are listed on the right-hand side of the page.

The public consultation will run from Monday 9 January 2023 to Monday 20 February 2023
