Solihull Council is a landlord and owns around 10,000 council homes. Our council housing service is managed by Solihull Community Housing (SCH).
As landlords, the Council is legally required to provide tenants with a written statement of the terms of their tenancy, including their rights and obligations, rents and other charges, and repair responsibilities. The current social housing tenancy agreement has been in place since 2012.
This agreement has been reviewed and updated to make it clearer, easier to understand, and to reflect current legislation, safety requirements and housing management practices.
As part of updating and reviewing the agreement, we want all tenants have a chance to comment. This feedback is important as the tenancy agreement will apply to all tenants, and we want to ensure it is fit for purpose, clear and fair, and that our tenants have been involved and understand the agreement.
You can read the updated proposed Tenancy Agreement here and provide your feedback via the link below.
The consultation will close at 23:59 on Sunday 15 November.
What happens next?
We will consider all of the feedback and may make changes, before finalising a new agreement. Subject to approval, the new agreement will be adopted from April 2027.
